HISTORY
LeasePlan Corporation was founded in the Netherlands in 1963 by Anton Goudsmit. In 1993 we established in Denmark, bringing fleet management with us.
“Fleet... what?”
In those days, fleet management was a completely new concept in Danish business circles.
People were used to vehicle finance, but fleet management was more than that. It became
possible to outsource the operation of the fleet – as well as the financing – to LeasePlan.
The difference was that customers no longer had to worry about servicing and maintenance, fuel card administration, vehicle policies, replacement cars and roadside assistance. That turned fleet management into a big success in Denmark, and LeasePlan grew quickly.

The LeasePlan Corporation is now the world’s leading provider of fleet management services.
We manage a total of 1.3 million cars and have over 45 years of experience. We are now active
in 30 countries, where our 6,000 employees are ready to help and advise you.
75 people are employed in Denmark, managing 23,000 vehicles for individuals, companies and
local authorities.

LeasePlan Danmark is a wholly-owned subsidiary of LeasePlan Corporation N.V., which is
owned by Volkswagen Bank GmbH (50%) and Fleet Investments B.V. (50%). The head office is in
Almere, the Netherlands.
