DRIVE GREEN - DRIVE GREENPLAN
Global warming is a global problem with a local solution. As you know, vehicles are among the biggest sources of CO2 emissions. That’s why we offer a programme designed to help you control the CO2 emissions from your own fleet: GreenPlan.
How can you make a difference?
GreenPlan will inspire and challenge you to think green. The aim is to highlight where to
focus your efforts to reduce CO2 emissions. As an extra bonus, you will often find that a tank
lasts longer – saving you money.
Get a picture of the existing CO2 emissions produced by your fleet
You can use GreenPlan to work out the existing CO2 emissions produced by your fleet. We
recommend that you use the analysis as a basis for formulating a plan of action. The aim of the
plan should be to create a vehicle policy that meets the needs and wishes of your company. In
other words, GreenPlan can help you create the right balance in your fleet.
Reduce fuel consumption by 7-10%
Anyone with a company car can benefit from our driving courses. The courses teach you how
to drive in the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient way possible, considerably
reducing your fuel consumption as well as CO2 emissions. For fuel alone, cost savings of 7-10%
are typical.
Do you want your fleet to have a green profile?
Working closely with you in a highly targeted way, we can follow up the results and savings
delivered by GreenPlan, giving your company’s fleet a greener profile into the future. The
follow-up is done in LeasePlan Online.
The EU is working to reduce CO2
Denmark is working with its EU partners to reduce CO2 emissions. The idea of green taxes is
to encourage individuals and companies to consider the environment – and so reduce emissions
from all sources including vehicles. By 2015 at the latest, vehicle manufacturers have been set
the target of reducing CO2 emissions to 130 g/km. If they miss the target, manufacturers will
have to pay a CO2 tax for every vehicle they sell.
The green ownership tax is added to your employees’ tax calculation
Please note that as of 2010, the green ownership tax is added to the taxable value of your
employee’s company car. That means that the less CO2 the company car emits, the less tax an
employee has to pay.
